Bairnsdale Regional Health Service (BRHS) is a diverse and responsive organisation providing an extensive range of services to the residents of East Gippsland including comprehensive primary care, acute care, aged care , community and home based health services.

As the major employer in East Gippsland, we employ more than 500 staff, in both full-time and part-time positions. We are committed to ongoing improvements and continued education opportunities for our staff so they are equipped to meet the changes in the health needs of our region.

We achieved Australian Council of Healthcare Standards accreditation status in August 1999 and gained re-accreditation in 2002 and a further four year term in 2006 until 2010.

In November 2000, BRHS achieved Aged Care accreditation for all aged care facilities and re-accreditation in December 2003 to 2006. An accreditation survey is due in September 2006.

The accreditation process endorses our hospital and staff achievements for the high quality of care provided to our patients.

Our services and systems are supported with the latest information technology solutions to meet the growing management, reporting and performance requirements of our organisation.
